Award-Wining Special Reports

This special report is a 2023-2024 Chicago/Midwest Regional Emmy Award for outstanding achievement for an investigative-single report.

Daycare Abuse Allegations

Parents entrusted their children to a daycare center in the south of Chicago with complete confidence until they began noticing irregularities in the care provided. One mother discovered signs of physical abuse on her daughter, prompting her to file a complaint with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).
The ensuing investigation led at least four workers to disclose what they considered to be negligence within the daycare, which they had concealed out of fear of retaliation. In this report, we speak not only with former employees of the daycare but also with a current employee who shares her firsthand experiences to warn other parents.

This day-turn story is a 2021-2022 Chicago/Midwest Regional Emmy Award for outstanding achievement for News Gathering - Arts/Entertainment.
